free programming language

What is the best, free programming language that I could use to create windows applications (if there is one)? I need one that’s easy for beginners to use.

Your problem is that anything windows costs money. You can try with Java and put out some small apps. But remember the basic precept Microsoft = $ or Micros= Anti-OpenSource or Free apps

There are a lot of free ones, I would say Java is the best.
But as long as you stay away from Microsoft’s mostly anything with a “Visual” in front of it is probably going to be the best.

You can also use C++, but you will have to find a compiler.

P.S. Eclipse is a good piece of software to use for a lot different languages
