I need to know why Visual basic is a good programming language for the programmer and end user
I have no background in graphics programming, although I have good math knowledge and otherwise decent basic programming skills. I’m looking for graphics software or a good programming language that will assist me in computing and demonstrating biological aspects of fractal geometry. Also, any suggestions on good literature related to this subject would be greatly appreciated.
sorry i should have mentioned i have to use vb it is part of my course even though i hate it i am doing an assignment and that is one of the questions
I heard that it was a language, but I keep seeing things about how to use a program called Visual Basic 6. Can you help me straight out the differences?

I am thinking of taking this class in my school, so basically I want to know if visual basic.net is a good language to know, as in, is it common to use it when writing programs, games etc, does it have many areas of application, or is it considered obsolete by most programmers?
Any insight on the subject is welcome.
